  1. Approval of Last Month’s Meeting Minutes: Amy Doherty Nee

Motion made and seconded to approve the meeting minutes of April 11, 2018:

  1. Treasurer’s Report: Tracey Jones

Reviewed balance sheet – noted profits and loss.

 

Scholarship discussion – can we do a partial scholarship? Potential recipients will need all to apply and prove that they need scholarship.

  1. Vice President’s Report: Paul Campbell

POPS: selling merchandise

We need food – water, candy, chips; Ed will go to BJs.

Need parents to bring coolers & ice; will set up in afternoon after 12:30

Car wash: This Saturday, 5/12.

PMA Board members for next year: Still need to fill Ways & Means position; maybe it should be a committee of several people.

Cathy will make an announcement at POPs night.

Concerts on the Common: POPs night – was traditionally geared toward older crowd. New town manager getting different band, wants to have BBQ, asked if PMA will do the cooking. We have to bring grills. The town will buy all food and reimburse for gas. Donation jars. Two hours; July 29th.

Senior awards banquet: info sent.

  1. Ways & Means Update: Kim Beaudet

Merch sales:  beach towels available for sale.

Fundraisers: Two car wash dates coming up (5/12 – choral & instrumental; 6/9 – marching band); any child can participate in any car wash.

Kids will sign up when they get there. If raining, will cancel Saturday 5/12.

Scrip fundraiser will get going.

 

  1. Director of Fine Arts Update: Catherine Connor-Moen

Table for POPs: CCM securing tables for whoever needs one

Marching band bus: she has invoice; needs to reimburse us

Music Camp: Paperwork is ready. Maybe advanced acting students will come (approx. 10-12 kids).

Need to figure out if costs work, if bus capacity for them. Regardless, we want to invite them.

Nashville: idea of trip has been approved. Time for fundraising for trip during April vacation 2019.

Bottle return fundraiser idea: Can we do that? Does it require too much work?

We should collect cans at our events when we sell soda.

Scholarships: amounts not available yet. Seven applicants. Two will be announced at POPs night.

 

  1. Marching Band Update: Steve Conant

Rehearsal for Memorial Day parade: first marching band rehearsal next week, Thursday 5/17, 6-8 pm.

 

  1. Publicity: Katie McConnaughy (& Becca)

Photographer: Dan Busler has agreed to photograph event at POPs; no charge; we will display some promo/advertising for him at event.

Brochure & Poster: Janice Hall and Becca Jackson have updated our brochure and created a poster for promotion of PMA at events. Still needs to be finalized; need other middle school pictures. Will revise and submit to Cathy for final approval.

 

  1. Quorum: 2017/2018 PMA Board, there are eleven (11) voting Board Members. In order to have a quorum, six (6) Board Members must be present.
