MADRIGALS
Perform
at King Richard’s Fair
The Norwood High School Madrigal
Choir step back in time and perform at King Richard’s Fair on October 10th
in Carver, Massachusetts. This group of roaming troubadours, adorned in period
dress, sing the type of songs that give the group their name. A madrigal, as
defined by Webster is a short poem usually about love that can be set to
music. It is typically written for several voices and sung acapella, meaning
without accompaniment. The musical selections included April is in my mistress
face, Sing we at pleasure and Fair Phyllis.
Make sure that you mark your calendars for the Annual Madrigals Banquet,
scheduled for December at the Elks Hall in Norwood. It promises to be the
highlight of the holiday season!
