Elementary
School Music Program
There are two
Honor Groups at the elementary level; Fifth Grade Honor Chorus and Fifth
Grade Honor Band.
Fifth Grade Honor Band
Under the direction of Ms Elana Swardlick, is
getting ready to start up for its fourth year. The Honor Band is a
select instrumental group that provides 25-40 young musicians the opportunity
to perform high quality repertoire at an advanced musical level.
The Band rehearses Tuesdays from 3:30-4:45 pm at the Prescott Elementary
School. Our concert season for this year includes the Instrumental
Classic Concert in March, the MICCA Festival Competition, the Norwood Fine
Arts Festival, and the POPs Concert. For more information, contact Ms

2007 Stars at Symphony

Fifth Grade Honor Chorus
The Fifth Grade Honor Chorus, under the
direction of Ms Catherine Moen, is comprised of 70-100 auditioned singers from
across the town of Norwood. The Honor Chorus rehearses one day per week
and performs at several concerts in the early spring. Concerts include the
Choral Classic, Fine Arts Festival, Pops Night and the Massachusetts
Instrumental and Choral Conductor’s Association Festival where the group has
won numerous gold and silver medals earning them performances at “Stars at
Symphony” Symphony Hall, Boston.
